Creation of a USD400m Franco-Saudi investment fund

CDC International Capital (CDC IC) and the Saudi private fund Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) on
26 June announced the creation of a Franco-Saudi investment fund (FISF, fonds d’investissement
franco-saoudien), with USD400m in assets, to assist French enterprises in their development in Gulf
countries.The FISF will be managed in parity by CDC IC (Caisse des dépôts group) and KHC, who will
initially invest USD50m each, while the remainder will be raised from other investors in the Gulf,
according to a statement from the CDC.The document also announces that the opening of the Riyadh
stock exchange to foreign investors will be taken as an occasion to open the capital in KHC to a
consortium of large French businesses, including Aéroports de Paris, AXA, Eiffage, Engie, Eren
Groupe, Orange, Safran, Suez Environnement. The consortium will invest a total of about USD150m
to increease the presence of the businesses concerned in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.
